Wind Rose is a new band from Italy who had some success with their EP from 2010, but now it is time for their debut album, and a fairy tale adventure musical tale has come forth. Symphonic metal and prog metal in one, and supplied properly by several short passages with story telling, general speaking, and even sounds of a horse running. Mix this in your head, and you have an idea of what Wind Rose is doing. Their singer Francesco Cavalieri do a fantastic job on the microphone, and of the total of 16 songs there are a few good ones, Son Of A Thousand Nights where they bring a strong flute intro and piano creative music for their listeners in a soft and well done production. The Fourth Vanguard is filled with aggressive metal guitars in their typical adventure metal style, but also darker metal elements finds their place on this song. Majesty takes the slow path into the deep adventure, and the music is soft and full of intensity even if it is very slow.
Generally the whole production is made in a way that could have been a foundation to an adventure movie, a soundtrack with different pieces of music mixed together for a special purpose. It does not sound like a independent full-length album that is made single-handed.
