Wall Street

Wall Street
(Frontiers - 2012)

Norwegian rockers Wig Wam are simply 2 decades late to make it big when they started the band. But even if the glam metal sound isn't the latest trend the foursome is releasing albums frequently; their latest effort is called Wall Street.

The title track Wall Street was chosen to kick off the album - and takes you back to Def Leppard's Hysteria era... Based on a heavy riff is OMG! (Wish I Had A Gun), a heavy rocker which is closer to heavy metal than hard rock. Teeny's guitar play is memorable and give the tune the certain something. While Victory Is Sweet is coming over you with a bittersweetness I haven't see coming. Well done! With The Bigger The Better the Def Leppard sound and style is back, but personally I like tracks like Bleeding Daylight more. The songs still holds similarities to other glam metal bands, bands who were popular back then, but no band names will start popping up when listening to this one. Slowly they head into Tides Will Turn, a tune based on acoustic guitar at the opening passage and which soon will make get lost in reverie. Later on the tune becomes a power ballad - and I guess back in time it would have been on heavy rotation. They offer a Southern rock tune called Wrong Can Feel So Right - and proof that they can vary and like to cross borders. It definitely adds a different flavor to Wall Street. Synthesizer sounds take you into One Million Enemies, luckily heavy riffs dominate this one and actually it becomes one of the most memorable tracks off Wall Street! Perhaps because it combines a dash of Roxette with glam metal. A riff-based rocker is Try My Body On, somehow this one make me think of.... Tyketto, even if I don't really know why... After Natural High they close this chapter with This Money Can't Buy, another power ballad but this time more epic where the guitar sings. This kind of instrumental is right up my alley!

If you like the 80's hard rock / glam metal sound and if you are looking for some catchy tunes, then check out Wall Street!

Non Stop Rock'n'Roll

Non Stop Rock'n'Roll
(Frontiers - 2010)

In this case the CD title is perfect!!!! Non Stop Rock'n'Roll from Wig Wam.... non stop fun for any listener!!!! This is an absolute jump back to '80's L.A. glam / sleazy scene, where Ratt, Mötley Crüe and Poison were the kings of the scene. After these few words seems you don't a review, because you people run out to buy this album!!!! Anyway, let's start this review from track number one Do You Wanna Taste It and echoes of Def Leppard (Hysteria period)are in my room.... cool!!! The following tracks Walls Come Down, Wild One and C'mon Everybody are very good rock songs, songs that shake your pelvis!!!!! A ballad, Man In The Moon and another (nice) song Still I'm Burning gives very cool vibrations to all, and the title track, pure rock'n'n'roll song (obviously) continue to stupify me!! How it's possible to be so honest in the era of technologies and new trends???

Another ballad From Here and we're near at the end of this album with Rocket Through My Heart, Chasing Rainbows and the bonus track Gotta Get It On that closes this CD. No more words for this album, if you love Crüe, Warrant, Leppard and rock'n'roll buy this album!!!
This is an order!!
