Prime Suspect

Prime Suspect
(Frontiers Records - 2010)

Prime Suspect is featuring Khymera / Twinspirits members, keyboarder Daniele Liverani, guitarist Tommy Ermolli and drummer Dario Ciccioni, the line-up is completed by bassist Mauro Catellani and Dreamtide singer Olaf Senkbeil.
Tommy Ermolli's guitar is dominant at the opening passage and hooks you up right away, then singer Olaf Senkbeil joins in and What Do You Want? becomes a real AOR / classic rock hymn. Another good example for their sound is Change This World, a track which has a bombastic edge and reminds me a bit of early 80's hard rock... For the emotional tune I Never Knew the band steps back and leaves Olaf's voice the space to do it's magic. Another tune which got me right away was It Could've Been You. Expressive vocals and great guitar play. One of my personal favorites! For Deep In My Heart they speed up a bit, the up-tempo tune is a pop rock tune. Personally I think it's a bit too poppy, but well... it ain't a bad tune. So Strange has a Purple-ish feel at the opening passage... A dash of old Whitesnake.. But there is something else which I can't fathom. Anyway, this tune sticks out and is another highlight off Prime Suspect.
Fans of bands like Foreigner, Giant, Journey, FM & co. should check out Prime Suspect.
