The Never Ending Black

The Never Ending Black
(self-released - 2010)

Pigskin was founded back in 1997 and only had one line-up change to cope with. The Swiss already released 2 albums and 2 EPs, they played more then 200 concerts. Now they present their new album The Never Ending Black which is another DIY release. The album was mixed and mastered by V.O. Pulver.
Thundering drums and heavy riffs open up the album, Frisco Joe is an instrumental intro which leads over to Order Of Domination. Their thrashy deathcore is based on a heavy groove, hard riffs, melodic leads and on top Dani's shouts / growls. The guitar leads are memorable and give the tracks a catchy edge. At 153 Divisions they seem to combine Exodus-like thrash with death metal... A furious ride. The growls add aggression and make them sound more deadly. At some songs their hardcore roots are more obvious than on others. The guitars make the songs differ from similar stuff, it's definitely their strong point!
The songs are well performed, but they lack fresh ideas. It seems like you have heard it all before, but if you don't mind the genre typical elements, then you'll enjoy the album!
