Once again YesterRock make a long out-of-print album available, this time they present Perfect Crime's Blonde On Blonde. The re-issue was remastered to make it sound more up-to-date. The Norwegian outfit released their second studio album in 1990 and with guests Bernie Marsden on guitar and Don Airey on keyboard they got some attention - and hard rock lovers will be happy to get this re-issue.
They kick off with the bluesy rocker Into The Water, it's followed by Shame On You which would have fit on an Alannah Myles' album - back then. At One Of These Days singer Bente H. Smaavik reminds me of the Heart and Vixen... And as I love the sound of Vixen, Heart and Alannah Myles, I can easily get into Perfect Crime. Perfect Crime has this 70's keyboard combined with bluesy guitars, a highlight! Another one is the rocker Stripped To The Bone, a catchy tune with heavy riffs and a great performance by Bente H. Smaavik.
Fans of bluesy 80's hard rock and female-fronted bands like Heart and Vixen should give it a try. Let Perfect Crime surprise you!
