Paris was founded by Frederic Dechavanne and Sebastien Montet who are long time friends who share the passion for AOR and melodic rock. Years ago they had played together, but then life led them in different directions. Now they hooked up with bassist Anna Portalupi and drummer Alessandro Mori for the album Only One Life.
They kick off with Dancing On The Edge, an up-tempo melodic rocker. the keyboard-based What Should We Be Saying is reminding me slightly of Toto... At the slower Every Time You Walk Away it's audible Frederic Dechavanne isn't a native speaker, but not too much. In my opinion songs like America work better for Paris, the up-tempo rocker fit way better to their keyboard-laden sound.
The songs are all quite good, but I miss something... outstanding, something which really enchants me. But well, it's their debut, they can do better next time!
