Actually I bought this album just because Porcupine Tree boss Steve Wilson did produce it. I like Porcupine Tree a lot and thought that it can't be bad, if Mr. Wilson produced it. Well, this album is no easy listening! Paatos are Ricard Huxflux Nettermalm - worked with John Norum, Clawfinger and Rammstein - and his wife Petronella who sounds a little bit like Björk... Musically they combine ambient, epic pop and rock with some jazz drumming and elements of 70's art rock. This sounds strange, I know, but I can't give a better explanation. The songs are full of melancholy, partly even depressive. The sweet voice of Petronella never sounds cheesy and that's an advantage for the album.
You should check out: Happiness, Won't Be Coming Back and Look At Us. Perhaps you'll like it, perhaps you won't. This is no music for the masses!
