Finnish monster rockers Lordi got a lot of attention winning the European Song Contest in 2006, now they present their 6th studio album - To beast Or Not To Beast. Nice twist of a Shakespeare line "to be or not to be" off Hamlet.
The open up with We're Not Bad For The Kids (We're Worse), an up-tempo rocker with a catchy refrain. A heavy rocker with sharp riffs is I Luv Ugly which gets a Kiss-eque touch due to the backings. I'm The Best is a straight rocker with big backings, but even if it's a party rocker it has some rough edges. Horrifiction seems to be inspired by Alice Cooper, but can't keep up with the master of shock rock. Schizo Doll is a two-edged sword for me, some parts I really like, but others just annoy me - so listen and make up your mind. Another Kiss-inspired rocker is Candy For The Cannibal. Unfortunately the following Sincerely With Love isn't funny to me, and so a waste of time like SCG6: Otus Butcher Clinic, but I know that some will love it - especially fans of Otus who passed away February 2012.
Fans of the Finnish monster rockers will know what to expect, but everybody else should check out the songs before getting the album.
