Pride In Tact

Pride In Tact
(Music For Nations - 1994)

The band of former Grim Reaper singer Steve Grimmett starts full speed ahead with Déjà Vu which is also the first single and video clip of the British. But with Lionsheart Mr. Grimmett is more placed in the heavy rock / melodic metal scene, nothing reminds you of his former bands Grim Reaper or Onslaught. On the 12 tracks the British quintet presents a variety from heavy tunes (e.g. Something For Nothing), bluesy songs (e.g. I'll Stand Up) in the vain of Whitesnake up to powerful ballads (e.g. Piece Of My Heart). The ballad Pain In My Heart which is dedicated to Steve's granny who passed is very emotional and Steve's way to deal with the feels and this makes it special. Most of the tracks are British heavy rock / metal which is pretty successful in Japan, but if they'll find fans elsewehere... A decent album, but beside the briliant ballad Pain In My Heart there are not much highlight. Actually I have to confess that I prefer their ballads or acoustics like Who's The Wise Man and that besides Déjà Vu and Relentless the more rocking tunes didn't work for me.
Unfortunately I can't tell you much about the band members, coz besides Steve Grimmett no name rings a bell. So, nothing to talk about.
