The American band is known by the metal fans and they released some classical albums. Now Jon Drenning I back with a new band! The album starts with a radio host who is talking about the sound of air raid and other sounds from the war, it's the intro and called March To Glory. After the intro the opening track is War Of The Worlds which starts with a scream of singer Wade Black. A mid-tempo track where Wade Black screams and sings and features the guitar play of Jon Drenning. Drenning found a decent backing band in drummer Steve Wachholz (ex-Savatage), bassist Jeff Lords and guitarist Ben Jackson. On New World Machine which has high pitch vocals, screams and electronic distorted spoken words all based on an interesting bass line and guitar parts. The title track is one of my favorites, a mid-tempo track with a heavy groove. With Edge Of Forever they have a ballad on the album, an emotional and catchy one. Another great track is Touch The Sun which is really catch and has a sing-along part.
Actually I have to confess that I prefer the tracks were Mr. Black isn't singing high pitch vocals, coz they have more atmosphere.... He isn't Midnight, but a great singer. Give them a chance and check out this album!
Btw, the first release is a limited edition as double CD containing as a bonus CD an live EP with material from 1991.
