When it leaked that Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith are making music together everybody was talking about this new super group. The self-titled debut album was released in 2009 and now they release the live album LV in Europe. The songs were recorded at different shows, the first 4 tracks were recorded in 2012 while the other tracks were recorded in 2009 live in Phoenix (AZ, USA). At the 2012 tour Kenny Aronoff was replacing Chad Smith who was busy with his main band Red Hot Chili Peppers.
No doubt all songs played perfectly and even if the songs are longer than the studio recordings it never get lengthy. It shows that Chickenfoot are among the few bands these days who know how to jam and deliver the 70's rock jam feeling. The sound of the 2009 recordings is a bit rawer, but still great! My favorite is Learning To Fall, but it's only a matter of taste, coz all songs are simply great.
