Century was started as a project by Crematory drummer Markus Jülich and become a 'real' band. These days Markus is just responsible for samples and programming in Century. Melancholia is their 2nd album and offers some kind of gothic rock, wave... Depeche Mode influences are obvious... The ten tracks present some more rocking tracks as well as ballads like Finally which is a slow, emotional track. Other tracks like e.g. Me, Myself And I are more in the vain of Wolfsheim, but there are also similarities to HIM. But Michael Rohr isn't a copy of Ville Valo, he has his own style! Playing live with acts like Paradise Lost and HIM helped the guys to become a band and also helped to find their own identity.
The debut was interesting, but with this album they make a huge step ahead! Well done!
