Full Throttle (Best of...)

Full Throttle (Best of...)
(EMI - 1999)

The all-girl band Vixen was founded in 1980 by guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, but it took years til the 'classic' line-up got together. In the late 80's they signed with EMI and released their debut Vixen in 1988 and Rev' It Up in 1990. Some songs made it into the heavy rotation at MTV and other stations - and they went on tour. In 1991 the band split up. In 1997 singer Janet Gardner and drummer Roxy Petrucci revived the band, but without founding member Jan Kuehnemund. In 1998 Tangerine was released, but never became as successful as the first 2 albums. With Full Throttle there is now a best-of album with the classic ones and some other cool tracks from the classic line-up.
Most glam metal fans will remember the videos of Edge Of A Broken Heart and Cryin', but not everybody knows the first 2 albums. With Full Throttle you get the best of Vixen with all their classic glam metal tunes. Listening to tracks like Edge Of A Broken Heart and Love Made Me revives the good ol' days of hair metal. Its fun to listen to this compilation and I can recommend this best-of to every fan of glam metal who doesn't own their first 2 CDs!
