Alienforest - A Sick Mind's Hologram

Alienforest - A Sick Mind's Hologram
(Debemur Morti Production - 2008)

V.E.G.A. is an Italian icon - as I heard - who re-release an album which originally was released at the turn of the century. They spiced up the re-release with some bonus material. That they regarded as an iconic band is quite understandable when you consider their sick sound of the threesome. No doubt, the sound of V.E.G.A. was written by bad brains. And so they are targeting a very small fan base... The framework is grim black metal, sometimes hyper-fast, sometimes hymnic and with melodic passages. The Italians add some electro ambient sounds, sick industrial and noise parts and some psychedelic sounds. If you lost the thread, then you have to listen to it, coz the songs are chaotic, noisy and completely sick - and offer a pitch-black morbid atmosphere. The 75 minute long monster contains 15 songs and if you want to listen to it at once it's demanding a lot! You need a lot of patience and you should be a real freak - in a positive way. This album I can only recommend to hard-bitten music lovers who dig sick and chaotic sounds. Black metal fans who like experimental sounds, should check out V.E.G.A., but everybody else will give up soon!
