Hell's Unleashed

Hell's Unleashed
(Century Media - 2002)

There is a phrase in the title track which could be the motto of Unleashed these days. To quote: "Like it or not, but we're back again, Hell's Unleashed! Join the madness or step aside!" Not necessary to tell about Unleashed, coz the fans know them for more a decade!
The band of bassist and singer Johnny Hedlund already released a few death metal classics and with the new release they put out another masterpiece! Unleashed's melodic death metal tracks are kind mid-tempo ones, mid-tempo for the death metal genre! The are anthem like and tracks like Fly Raven Fly may many metal fans like, only the vocals are close to the death metal growls. Technically they are awesome and it's a pity that probably the name and the logo keep metal fans of listening to it, coz they expect death metal à la Six Feet Under, etc. This album contains 15 songs, not everybody a killer track, but also no fillers. Swedish melodic death metal, but not to compare with In Flames or other known Swedish acts. If you are not afraid of harsh vocals, then give it a try!
For collectors I should mention that Hell's Unleashed is also available as vinyl!

Hell's Unleashed

Hell's Unleashed
(Century Media - 2002)

They are still alive! The guys from Unleashed are still playing what they are known for - pure death metal the Scandinavian way!
On their new album Hell's Unleashed the quartet offers 15 brutal and skull crushing tracks. Their uncompromising sound comes over the listener from the first moment. Tracks like Deamoneater, Joy In The Sun and Your Head Is Mine had a huge potential of aggression and so their isn't one track on Hell's Unleashed which couldn't cope with their old material. They are back! Heavier and more brutal then ever!

Warrior

Warrior
(Century Media - 1997)

In the past there was a kind of rule for death metal bands which said: "As faster and unintelligible the better!" These days this motto seems to be taken over by the black metal maniacs. And so the new Unleashed album is quite a surprise, coz they use clear vocals which lay on a foundation of raw and rough riffs. This is how death metal sound in 1997! The new masterpiece is called Warrior and the label biography see this album as the new surveyor's rod for death metal. And in comparison with the new Paradise Lost album the grooving killer tracks like Warmachine, Ragnarök and Löngt Nid may proof that. Only the song Death Metal Victory which is a little egocentric brings up restraint feelings... The song in general is fantastic arranged and played, but the provocative lyrics.... So, there will never be death metal victory, coz power metal rules!  ;-)
