The Poodles - live in Essen

Swedish glam rockers The Poodles have out their 3rd album which is called Clash Of The Elements. As they love to play live they hit the road to promote their latest piece of work live. They got their fellow countrymen Dynazty as support, a good choice. The youngsters recorded their debut Bring The Thunder late last year, got released a few months ago and now they are touring abroad for the first time.
Tonight they stopped in Essen, but due to the amount of tours only about 100 people found their way to the Sounds. The beginning was announced for 8 PM, but they started about 30 minutes later - and so some more people had arrived. Dynazty kicked off with Higher & Higher and soon the people gathered in front of the stage. At the small stage they hadn't much space to move, but the fivesome did their best to entertain the fans. It was obvious that Dynazty were nobodies to most of the people, but with songs like Catch The Night and Far Away which started acoustically, they made new friends. The glam rockers played almost their whole album and they proofed that they truly love the music they play and enjoyed being on stage. It was a little surprise that they added a drum solo to their set, coz as a support you usually skip this... Anyway, after Devil's Shake and the title track Bring The Thunder it was time for them to step off the stage.
After the change-over tour manager Frank entered the stage and announced that Jakob was sick and that he and the doctors recommended him to take a break and not strain his voice. Jakob rested all day, but that he wants to do the show...
The Poodles entered the stage and kicked off with Too Much Of Everything followed by Caroline. Jakob come on stage top-hatted and within a few moments he had enchanted the audience. They were out to promote their latest album Clash Of The Elements and so they presented several songs from that album incl. I Rule The Night - after drummer Christian Lundqvist talked to the fans and made some jokes - and Wings Of Destiny. Right from the start the fans were singing along and supported Jakob who's voice wasn't as strong as usual. In 2008 Jaded Heart were touring with The Poodles and so it wasn't a surprise to see Michael Müller in the audience - and the Swedish welcomed him and dedicated Song For You to him. The guys rocked the house with songs like Seven Seas - here Jakob's voice was a bit shaky - and Echoes From The Past. An instrumental and a drum solo gave Jakob Samuel a little break - and time to change his dress. After Echoes From The Past the guys left the stage, but the fans wanted more! After a few minutes the glam rockers returned and finished the night with Night Of Passion.
I guess that they would have played a few more songs, but due to Jakob's voice problems they were forced to change the set... Anyway, everybody was happy that they played and so little flaws been tolerated. The fans appreciated that they didn't cancel the show and so everybody will show up next time around. Thanks for a great evening with Swedish glam metal!
