Unplugged

Unplugged
(SAOL - 2009)

The Chicago doomsters are now presenting Unplugged and close a chapter. This is the last time singer Eric Wagner takes over the microphone, from now on ex-Warrior Soul Kory Clarke is the voice of Trouble and will be heard on the coming live album.
Trouble present some of their classics and some songs they dig out, all in an acoustic version. They kick off with 7 A.M. which gets a slight country touch and a melancholy note, but its far from being depressive. Very cool one! A bit 70's rock like is Rain. One of my favorites is Smile which get s special dynamic in this stripped down version. Mystic Hero was written back in 1991 and has a slight Jim Morrison touch... The following songs are also from 1991 / 1992. At Waiting For The Sun the 70's rock vibe is back and Wagner's vocals remind me a bit of Robert Plant while the music has a Cream-ish touch... The last track is a cover version of Yardbird's Heartful Of Soul - and really rocks.
I think that even for a die-hard Trouble fan who owns every release this one is interesting, not just because of the new tracks! The acoustic versions show Trouble quite different and gives you the chance to discover a new facette of Trouble. Well done!
