Ego Anthem

Ego Anthem
(Drakkar - 2009)

About a year ago the Finnish presented their debut album - and the definition of metal was overdone. Melodic death metal with a dose of traditional metal they offer, partly they remind me of Children Of Bodom... A quite decent debut. With their new album Ego Anthem they follow the chosen path. My question, are these youngsters really such great song writers? Perhaps they are really full of energy, coz the 9 new songs are kinda the same, well even better then the ones off the debut. At Ego Anthem they even show their own sound and never try to sound like one of their influences. Metal fans will dig this album of the six Finnish guys who are sounding very energetic. Anyway, I think Tracedawn could have pushed a little more and offered some twists and turns. It's a pity, coz they do have the potential to make it, but they really have some interesting songs recorded which genre fans will dig. A good choice to check them out is Dirt Track Speedball, coz it has all the trademarks of the band's sound and should warm every metal fans heart. Let's see how long it will take them to deliver the follow-up! If they stay on track they can make it big! Only criticism is the CD runtime which is a bit short... A track or two more would have been nice...
