The New York band Thinning The Herd released their second album, a 8-track piece called Oceans Rise. It is based at blues and metal-rock music sometimes a little too slow for the metal fans, but they describe their music as Stoner Rock. To verify it they have texts about getting stoned, and someone could think that they were on dope when they wrote their songs. Look Behind is a good standard rock song with a good bass guitar for the rhythm of this song. Defiler combines blues and heavy music in a cool way, very catchy. But the only song that really stands out to be brilliant is Binge. That song is guitar at its finest, heavy rock with a laid back party attitude. Its the kind of song that makes you rock your head from side to side in the stony way that Thinning The Herd indulges.
