Blessings From A Blackened Sky

Blessings From A Blackened Sky
(Drakkar - 2007)

The Sorrow is a metal / hardcore band from Austria. Cool, straight riffs lead you into this album and The Dagger Thrust can easily keep up with the big names of the genre. The quartet shows craftsmanship as it's required in this scene.
Death From A Lovers Hand is powerful and aggressive, but it also has emo influences. Track no. 5 has no title and starts with acoustic guitar, some white noise, then a dynamic solo takes over - and it's over. I think this was just a kind of interlude, bridge to the following track Numbers Of Failure. But gives the listener a break. Every song is interesting and rocks! But songs like Her Ghost Never Fades and Thirteen Years deserve a closer look.
Beside of the untitled track all songs are quite similar, but still I can recommend this album to metalcore fans, but The Sorrow should also be checked out by fans of emo!
