The Cherry Red Jukebox

The Cherry Red Jukebox
(TWAH - 2003)

The first impression isn't that this quartet has a 20 year history, they sound fresh on their 7th album. Musically the British present rock, roots rock. Sometimes with influences from blues, folk, punk and country. But the atmosphere of the songs, the band vibe make all the different songs sound homogenous. The first 2 songs show the diversity of the compositions of guitarist Paul Simmonds and singer / guitarist Stefan Cush and bassist Ricky McGuire. The drums were played by Andy Selway. Other guests are violinist Bobby Valentino, Clive Pain and guest vocalist Merril Cush.
It's fun to listen to the various songs. The British have created their own sound during their 20 year career. To get an idea about the musical melange check out: Singing Elvis, Silver Gun or Ride Again.
