The Last Hard Man

The Last Hard Man
(Spitfire Records - 2002)

The album cover is kinda strange... Has a stick saying 'featuring Sebastian Bach', so shall I expect something like Skid Row? NO!!!!!! Opening with a sequence from an interview is as strange as the whole album! The first 'real' track is called Sleep and is a heavy rocking tune with melodic metal vocals as well as Marilyn Manson-kinda vocals.... The album was recorded in 1996 / 1997 when Sebastian Bach, Kelley Deal (The Breeders), Jimmy Chamberlin (ex-Smashing Pumpkins) and Jimmy Flemion (The Frogs) came together to cover Alice Cooper's School's Out. Everybody is singing parts on the album. Seb Bach is also playing guitar on this one. Back to the beginning... The cover version starts with female vocals in the tradition of Billy Holiday a capella, then the band joint and a weird version tries to sneak into your mind.... Then a sequence of an interview with Kelley. Another track with female vocals... No idea, how to categorize this one... Sorry, but this is crap!!! Even die-hard fans of Sebastian Bach should save the money or spend it for something else! Not worth to spend a dime!
