Secret Discovery - July, 23rd 2004 - Bochum (D), Bochum Total

The gothic rockers from Bochum are back for quiet awhile, but it's the first time I see them since they reunited. The band of singer Kai Hoffmann and his brother guitarist Falk started with A Question Of Time. It's obvious that the band enjoys being on stage again, only Falk is a little handicapped, he had an accident and couldn't move without crouches. But that's life. Another old tune - Colour My Life - and then it was time for a new song... More Then I Love You. The songs from their new album Prey fit perfect to their old material. The first highlight of the set was I Don't Care. Okay, this is their hometown, but I haven't expected to see so many Secret Discovery shirts. But then it was time to surprise the fans with a cover version. They played a heavy gothic metal version of the dancefloor hit I Turn To You from Melanie C. (ex-Spice Girl) and it worked out great. The song sounded like one of their own, only during the chorus it sounds a little like the original. Well done! Time for a German song - Sieh nicht zurück. With Prey they presented the title track from their latest album and Kai gave the information that their CD is available at the info both. The show is almost over when they played their hit Hello Goodbye. Fans sang along and it was obvious that this is what the fans waited for. One more cover version - this time Billy Idol's Rebel Yell - and the show was over. It's good to have them back and perhaps some more fans will come to see them next time.
