Svölk 'Em All

Svölk 'Em All
(Napalm Records - 2011)

A band who is not afraid of anything, a fighting weight of totally 400 kg, a bombastic album title called Svölk 'Em All, of cause leading the memories to the classic Metallica album Kill 'Em All. These Norwegian guys have introduced a music style that they call Bear Metal. So very interesting what we have here. 12 songs that starts with Dead:30 a staccato 80's metal with the brutal attacks so you really feel that they are serious about their 400 kg attacking force. In the song 12 Times The Pain all the attacking continues with the 80's style metal with a smitting sound. End Of Days goes further into high tempo power metal with super virile guitars to make the extra punch. Warm Within has a great instrumental guitar intro before it turns into hard rock catchy as hell so warm that you get burned. Time For The Dying is another example of their sublime metal where the guitar sounds are in absolute topclass. This debut album from the Norwegian band Svölk is great as it is, but if they were a little more creative with more depth in their songs, they could have potential for a lot more than they show here. I look forward to their next album.
