Light On The Path

Light On The Path
(Prophecy Prod. - 2009)

Subaudition are delivering their sophomore album which is called Light On The Path, an album full of atmospheric sounds. The Finnish present soundscapes based on acoustic guitar and piano spiced up with string arrangements. Epic tunes full of sadness and melancholy, but there is light, too. A dark emotional track is Sýnne where the cello is enchanting you. At Now That We've Spent All The Light the show another facet of their sonic world. First it's the vocals which catch your interest, then an instrumental passage where the strings seem to do the talking... A kind of conversation between singer Antti Korpinen and the instruments. Human Abstract sticks out a bit, it's not a happy tune, but it's like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel... Half way through the song you hear some distant voice... A little later Antti's vocals are back and they are quite up-front... On top of everything and with a calming effect. The closer Wall Of Water is another long track which needs time to develop, like a journey which slowly begins and takes you to different places.
To get all the details you should use headphones, coz even if it might seem to be quite simple, it has a lot to offer!
