Reden - Gisela Schmitz - 8 stars

(Fastball Music - 2010)

Let's go back in time, back in 1980 Törner Stier Crew played a show which was filmed for Rockpalast and shown on German TV. The band of H. Martin Stier and Charlie Steinberg played at a festival where Frank Zappa played too - and they stole the show. In 1982 the band disbanded and H. Martin Stier became an actor - e.g. Wim Wenders Himmel über Berlin, engl. title Wings Of Desire) and Charlie Steinberg became an inventor, Cubase is his baby. At one point they felt the urge to give it another try and they hired guitarist Lee C. Pinsky and drummer Tom Guenzel. And after 30 years after the Rockpalast show they finally recorded their debut album. I can tell you that the 13 tracks rock! This is pure rock'n'roll. Partly a bit melancholy, you might think of Joachim Witt... Lyrically they do well, they tell short stories with a satiric touch. Really cool! Reden is pure fun and I hope to get the chance to see them live. Be open-minded and give this album with German lyrics a chance. You won't regret it.
Check out their website, it's really cool! And hopefully they will hit the road....
