The band was founded in 1995 and released their debut Bound, Gagged And Blindfolded in 1997. This is their 3rd full-length album and it's more straight than the previous ones. They toured with bands like Coal Chamber, Machine Head and Kittie.
Music is communication and so the band set up a toll-free number where fans could call and leave messages of all kind. Parts of this been used on this album. The track Disturbing The Art Of Expression is an unusual track and my favorite one on this album. Starting with spoken words and then the music fades in. Steev sings clearly and isn't shouting or screaming. A very intense track. Jesus Cells is kinda same, but with a different vibe and at the end it got a little more extreme with some screams. The song Never Give In started the same way, but develops into a more Nu metal kinda track. This can be recommended to fans of the above mentioned bands.
Listen to Never Give In and Come Get It to make your own decision.

Every month the same procedure. "Volker, I have a few CDs here, can you review them?" "No problem!" And then I sit here and 6 of 10 CDs make me puzzled and I have no idea what to write. That's the case with the Americans Skinlab as well. I have heard their name before, but never ever heard a single note of them.
I don't think that it will change, coz this band has a hotline for fans where they can call and leave a message which can be everything from curses to inflammatory speech to lamentation! All this message they checked and was involved in the song writing. The result is awful and unintelligible. Perhaps I should say that Skinlab are based in the hardcore / Nu metal genre and have some trash influences. Enough said!
