Till The End

Till The End
(Pure Underground Records - 2011)

Scarlatyna has a career that started in 1989, made two demos in 1991 and 1992 and then they split up in 2004. The Germans found each other again and gives it one more try, so now we get their two demos Scarlett Ball and Till The End in a new compilation CD, and the reason is clearly that they are preparing a new album to come later in 2012 so why not warm up with the old songs. 7 songs of very mixed quality is what is on their release Till The End. They have a singer in Chris Marino who do more screaming than singing, and by screaming I do not mean elegant screams like Rob Halford or King Diamond, the vocal work from Chris Marino is of much lesser standard. We simply get two demos of what they had to offer at the time, 3 songs on one disc and 4 songs on the other, and from this pile of choices the song Till The End is the best one as it has both power and melodic quality, but also Wings Of The Night could manage a retry without being totally slayed. This is not the best, but it's what they have, and let's see what they bring on their forthcoming new album.
