David Reece was the successor of Udo Dirkschneider in Accept, the was the singer of Bangaloire Choir and he is the man with the mic in Gypsy Rose. The American singer is finally releasing his first solo album. In guitarist Andy Susemihl he found his partner in crime. Andy wrote the songs together with David, played guitar and produced the album. He also introduced David to Jochen Fünders, who as a result of it took over the bass playing. They only needed a drum for this musical journey and David thought of Stefan Schwarzmann who happily agreed. That's the basics, now let's talk about the music!

The album kicks off with a heavy mid-tempo rocker called Before I Die, a melodic heavy tune. Based in hard rock this track has a bluesy edge, but the riffing give the song the heaviness. The chorus is catchy and invites you to sing along, later a break and the vocals almost stand alone - but then the power returns. Very good opener! A boogie-based rocker is All The Way, and it somehow sounds familiar... But then the song takes another direction, even if the guitar theme is picked up again. Great guitar solo by Andy Susemihl. The following songs vary in speed and show different influences. The tracks sound familiar, but I think it's only coz I listened to the same stuff as Mr. Reece.... One of my favorites is I'll Remember You, a very emotional heavy rocker. Acoustically they start Rescue Me, a balladesque track combines power, heavy riffs and a catchy hook. The semi-acoustic balladesque track Once In A Lifetime has power, a big choir and a symphonic touch. A real ballad you get with Queen Of My Dreams. The closer is a heavy rocker called Yellow. And again I have the feeling I know this tune... But I don't care, the songs are fun and if they remind me of something, I don't care!
A powerful hard rock album which shows David Reece, the singer more closely, coz he don't have to fit into a band scheme. This is his show! And it's a great show!
