Live In Hyde Park

Live In Hyde Park
(Warner Music - 2004)

They are legendary. Recording a live show can end a chapter in a bands career or is just a snapshot of what the band is about live. The Red Hot Chili Peppers recorded this double CD in London on 3 days. The setlist is mainly containing songs from their latest studio album Californication. But they didn't forgot their early days. The collection offers tracks like Scar Tissue, Give It Away, Under The Bridge and Otherside. Beside that the band had enough room for solos. Okay, they just released a single collection and a video collection on CD and DVD. But the live album is in my opinion the best choice to get an idea of the band. They took a walk on the razor's edge between playing note for note what they recorded and between jamming. Here and there singer Anthony Kiedis could be a little louder, but well... To ban the atmosphere on disk is almost hard, if not impossible, but it gives a good idea who it can be live. Better then at Rock im Park / Rock am Ring it's been anyway. Personally I think they did quite well.
