Revived
(Diehard Music - 2002)

The Italians aren't newcomers, founded in 1988 as Cenotaph they released two albums in the 90's, then renamed to Necrosphere. Revived is the return of the Italian quartet. They present metal in the tradition of their heroes Slayer which they honored with the cover of Necrophilia. Necrosphere offer musical variety within the limited death metal genre, an album which stay interesting even after several spins. Lyrically the band is inspired by the brutal horror and splatter movies they love. Also some song titles might sound strange to us, but comes from their roots like Antropophagus which is the Latin word for cannibal and is about an imaginary place where nuclear radiation wake up the dead.
An interesting 'newcomer' from Italy is on the way to reanimate the death metal scene and to proof that not just Floridians and Swedish can do death metal and that Italy not just produce music like Eros Ramazotti or metal bands like Lacuna Coil, Novembre, Rhapsody and Vision Divine.
