Dogz On Dope

Dogz On Dope
(Fastball Music - 2009)

Don't mix up the Swiss band Maxxwell with Maxwell, coz the later aren't as interesting musically as the Swiss. The hard rock band Maxxwell exists for 3 years and their music is based in 80's hard rock / metal. They have a more earthy sound then Mötley Crüe or Poison. Their sound is a kind of mix of nowadays Mötley Crüe with a dash of Black Label Society, due to the usage of heavy riffs they sound quite heavy. Great hooklines and expressive vocals can win you over. The opener Locked Up kicks off with thundering riffs. They also offer melodic tunes like Boogey Man and heavy rockers like Bad To The Bone. Maxxwell can surprise the listener with songs which differ from the rest of their stuff like the groove monster Down And Out, the blues-inspired Acid Train or the ballad Tomorrow - this will give you goose bumps! This track will move the hardest heart. Dogz On Dope rocks! And the production supports the songs, powerful and not too polished. The production make the refrains of Dust N' Smoke, Big Shot and Hooked shine and so the melodies can hook you up. There are quite a few Swiss bands who play hard rock, but I'm pretty sure that we will hear a lot more off Maxxwell in future! Everybody who is into hard rock with a dash metal should check them out!
