Maelstrom is for metal fans who like to mix things, here we get powerful doom metal with a high avant garde approach. A small EP of 3 songs that touches the specter of mysterious music. What the purpose with this album is will stand as a question mark, but surely Maelstrom gets some publicity. The first song is Arise, with avant garde metal and doom all knitted together from the screaming guitars that Maelstrom uses. A Futile Crusade mostly reminds the listener of a circus song with the content of doomy avant garde metal from the American band. Predestined is closing this event with another powerful avant garde metal act, and they will probably attract new fans with the great cover, but if they can get new fans with their music is another matter.
