Bliss Of Solitude

Bliss Of Solitude
(Napalm Records - 2008)

You might thinks this is just another epic doom metal band from Sweden, but Isole now have their 3rd album out - and with Bliss Of Solitude they present a jewel! Heavy, dark riffs open up slowly By Blood, the first track. But not just monolith riffs flowing lava-ish out of the speakers, singer and guitarist Daniel Bryntse adds some epic vocals. But during the 8 min. long track they vary, but always stay clearly in the doom metal genre. Especially the background choir gives the tune some bittersweet melancholy. More fat riffs, epic choirs and heavy grooves they provide with From Clouded Sky - and it gets obvious that this is stuff for all fans of Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus. Sometimes they surprise the listener with short breaks. Its the voice of Daniel Bryntse which is outstanding and ennobles the songs. You can feel the sorrow... The agony. Darkness and sorrow surround you. After the slow title track they present a powerful doom monster with Aska. While Dying starts acoustically, but they can't leave the heavy riffs behind.
The band produced and mixed the album themselves, only the mastering wasn't in their hands - they hired Thomas Nilsson to add the final touch.
If you feel like darkness is all around and you are drowning in sorrow, then this is the perfect album for you!
