No Retreat No Surrender

No Retreat No Surrender
(Yesterrock - 2009)

This is a new release on Yesterrock, but it's old recordings. Fans were requesting the release of it for quite awhile and finally the former Heartlyne members met and decided to give in. And so No Retreat No Surrender is seeing the light of the day 22 years after it's been recorded. The band and the label decided not to overdo the album, so it's pure 80's hard rock! The sound, the songs are authentic. Fans of 80's hard rock who still listen to the releases of Fate or Treat or Europe's Wings Of Tomorrow will love the old recordings of Tommy Heart and his mates. It also shows well where the Soul Doctors Chris Lyne and Tommy Heart are coming from. Songs like the title track No Retreat No Surrender are catchy and show why the fans were asking for a proper release. Bombastic keyboards, heavy riffs and catchy hooks - that's what songs like Victims Of Love and Empty Eyes are made of. Not just the music is typical 80's, also the lyrics which might sound a bit cheesy nowadays.... Btw, the song Starlight you'll find twice on the CD - so you can listen to 2 different versions -, the opener and the closer. Anyway, everybody who is still listening to the 80's hard rock bands and can still enjoy the songs, get a copy of No Retreat No Surrender!
