Jaktens Tid (Swedish for 'time to hunt') is the second release of the Finnish sextet and again the band is trying to push it to the limits.
For a band which was born by drunken minds they soon became successful. The initial idea to do extreme metal based on 'Humppa' (a Finnish traditional which is a variety of polka) was new. Their mixture of black / death metal and folk influences caught the interest of Spikefarm and the debut hit the streets in 1999.
This time the six-piece present Jaktens Tid which is based on another Finnish music style, the 'Joik'. 'Joik' is an obscure, traditional Saami/Laplandic chant that is believed to be one of the oldest forms of European music! This interesting mixture which crosses boarders of black/death metal and folk metal entered the Finnish charts on #20! On this album singer Katla got a helping hand from Shaman's Jonne who did some vocal parts and guitars. To get an impression give a try to the title track and / or Slaget Vid Blodsälv!
Be warned, the trollish invasion will soon come!
