Heavy Persuasion

Heavy Persuasion
(Lion Music - 2000)

He was going the classical way of developing. The Scandinavian guitarist Torben Enevoldsen was influenced by guitar heroes like Tony Iommi, Richie Blackmore and Eddie Van Halen, but also by Yngwie Malmsteen and these guitarists motivated him. Soon he realized that with practicing and patience he can make it. Additionally he played with several bands in Denmark and increase his ability in working with other musicians.
In 1998 the debut of this talented guitarist was released as Guitarisma and received good critics from the European music press. Now the second release of Torben Enevoldsen is getting into the stores and is called Heavy Persuasion which is produced by Mr. Enevoldsen on his own. On the drums he got support from Mickey Hurricane and the bass was played by Flemming Hansen. The 10 compositions are on a level which isn't second to none of the big names of the scene.
A large musician range including songs like Go Figure and Temple Of Hope which really rock, while songs like Another Page and Off Limits slow down, at least partly. The track About Time sounds to me a little like Toto...
At all songs the guitar is dominating and pushes the other instruments are a little bit into the background. I think this is a decent album and I can recommend it to guitarists.
