And Them Boys Done Swang

And Them Boys Done Swang
(Escape Music - 2011)

The band Electric Boys is a band that have gotten cult status in Sweden with their upright rock'n'roll music without complications, they just play directly from their hearts, and this is a style that talks to many fans of rock music. Since their start in 1988 they have made a lot of good music, and even though they had a break in the later years they decided to reunite in 2009. Now they are back with a great album that doesn't go in a different direction from what the fans are used to from their hands, the new album And Them Boys Done Swang is filled with happy rock songs sometimes old-fashioned, sometimes modern aggressive rock combined with party and sleaze rock. In other words: Electric Boys exactly as they should sound.

Reeferlord nails the band to the sound of hard aggressive lively and good happy rock sound where everybody can attend. Father Popcorn's Magic Oyster is inspired by both The Beatles and also 80's metal rock a la Mötley Crüe, a brilliant rock song. The House Is Rockin' hits you in the face come more sharp good-mooded metal rock. Party and sleaze rock'n'roll is also represented in the songs Sometimes U Gotta Go Look For, and Put Your Arms Around Me, and also Rollin' Down The Road. In my view the best song comes as the very last: A Mother Of A Love Story, where the hard and hot tempered rock'n'roll quality reaches the highest level that they can bring. A good and heartwarming album from Electric Boys that fits in most peoples CD collection.
