Crimson II

Crimson II
(Black Mark - 2003)

Believe it or not, the roots of this Swedish band are going back 15 years in time when four musicians got together to revive the death / thrash metal scene. After the release of the first demo and the review at the famous Kerrang the band got numberless requests from allover the world. About a year later another demo got into the hands of Black Mark Records and got the band a deal. The history continuos and several line-up changes took place, but the band released some very innovative, experimental albums.
Mainman is singer Dan Swanö, but through personal problems the label told him to leave the band and he did. For a little while the band continued and Swanö released a decent solo album. In 2001 the story of Edge Of Sanity ended.
After awhile the record label contacted singer / songwriter Swanö and ask to revive the band. The songwriting process ended in the recording of Crimson II. After the first spin of this 10-track album I get the impression that this one can make it. But if the band has a future is unclear. Even if there are talks about doing some shows....
Everybody who likes dark growls combined with melodic guitars, hammering drums and harmonic keyboards should get the latest - probably last - release of Edge Of Sanity.
