Dexter Jones' Circus Orchestra is a retro rock band from Sweden who is presenting their 3rd album now. If Light Can't Save Us, I Know Darkness Will is the follow-up of 2007 Side By Side album.
With Hammond organ and vocals they kick off If Bars Could Bend and right away Tia Marklund's vocals will hook you up. For I'm A Dog But You're A Hound they speed up a bit and this guitar-driven rocker shows reminiscences to Southern Rock acts like the Allman Brothers. With Mattew Bethancourt they have a new member in the band who contributes to the dual guitar harmonies. Little Man reminds me a bit of Thin Lizzy, but in a DJCO's way. A boggie-based retro rocker is the closer Sad World.
The Swedish play retro rock, but offer some variety, so it never gets boring. The songs sound homogenous and will please the fans of DJCO and retro rock!
