Blaze
(self-released - 2012)

Blaze from Osaka, Japan is a band who wants to get their career to go in the right direction, so they are re-releasing their debut album, Blaze, from 2007. Right now they do not have a record label, but are trying to solve the situation. They were formed in 1998 by guitarist Hisashi Suzuki, ex-Strange Flavor, and Suzuki is the key member and songwriter of the band. Their style is classic heavy metal and could be inspired by the sound French band Attentat Rock had in the 80's. This Japanese quartet puts their energy into the music side of the album, as their vocals are not the best, but with a guitarist like Hisashi Suzuki they are blessed with a creative master in the highest class. On The Run is both melodic and has the quality of pure guitar metal of the Gods. Fools Mate is the same, but the basic rhytm here is good and solid, again the fantastic guitar work. Answer comes with an attitude of hard and perfect metal with lots of aggression and bite. Walking On The Cloud clearly demonstrates that the vocal side of Blaze is not their main quality, so they put it in the background and let the guitar sound dominate, great done with melodic strong metal as a result. Place In The Sun is in my view the best song on the album. It's hard and heavy and has a little extra super elegant sound. Good idea from Blaze to bring on their debut album again, and reach more people than they could before.
