Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore is known for his work with Deep Purple and later Rainbow. A few years ago Mr. Blackmore discovered his love for mediaeval music. He almost gave up the electric guitar to work mainly acoustic. With his wife Candice Night he released 4 albums under the logo of Blackmore's Night. This is a collection of romantic love songs which could be the soundtrack for a wedding. One of the 14 tracks is the previously unreleased Once In A Million Years. Tracks like Wish You Were Here, Be Mine Tonight, I Still Remember and Diamonds And Rust show the romantic, balladesque side of Blackmore's Night. Nothing for die-hard metalheads, coz here are no electric guitars can be heard. But perfect for some romantic moments.
The limited edition comes with a 2nd CD which included 5 video tracks live recorded at a show in Solingen (Germany) and some Christmas tracks... Well, the video tracks are cool, but when I want to listen to some different kind of Christmas music, then I prefer Trans-Siberian Orchestra's albums.
The rest of it can be categorized as romantic mediaeval pop music.
