As Hell Retreats is a young Christian band from Nashville who do a kind of thrash metal / metalcore that are aggressive and progressive, but the never seems to reach a level where you can really enjoy their music. They growl away about their pain and suffering through Biblical themes in a shifting between soft and very fast songs. The main problem with their music is, that they loose the control of it and it ends with boring growling sounds that gets tiring as it continues the way As Hell Retreats do it. Young Heretic and Desperation are two songs that could have raised the outcome a bit, but this album could best be done one more time where they polish it off very thoroughly and tries to put together some new songs.
