(net Music Zone Rec. - 2001)

Slowly and careful - as well as the CD Soma - the band April Daze started their career. Coming from Remscheid - a German town which isn't a stronghold of rock music - didn't make it easier. Nevertheless they started in 1996 a try to conquer the music scene with British inspired rock music. The start of their career was influenced by the circumstance that an A&R manager saw them during their sound check for a small gig and immediately signed them. After doing the first studio recordings live shows (with e.g. Dog Eat dog and Liquido) and radio airplay followed. Now their debut Soma is in the stores. The German quartet April Daze (Carsten Böcker - guitar / vocals; Stephan Orth - guitar; Oliver Mühlbauer - bass; Tobias Kaps - drums) show on the 12 tracks of their debut a quite original sound, even if influences from British rock are obvious. But they added a personal touch. Party the songs are really catchy and a tour could help to make them more known...
