Thrive

Thrive
(Frontiers Records - 2013)

The Murder Of My Sweet singer Angelica Rylin has been doing a solo album called Thrive which now sees the light of day. She got a helping hand at the song writing and band mate Daniel Flores played drums and keyboard and took care of the production. Angelica Rylin wanted to do an album inspired by her childhood vocal heroes Ann Wilson, Robin Beck and Romeo's Daughter front lady Leigh Matty.

The opener Breaking My Heart has an 80's edge (keyboards), but it's Angelica's vocals which give it a rock edge. Back in the days the opener would have get quite some air play. Primal Fear guitarist Magnus Karlsson is adding a solo at the opener.

After the strong opener you get I Am Strong and To Your Rescue - and both would have been a great choice for a single / video! Personally I like To Your Rescue a bit more as it shows more facets of Angelica's voice. A slow, emotional tune is Can't Stop Love, a song which make me think of Robin Beck... Quite heavy are the guitars at the opening passage of Riding The Storm Out. One of the highlights is Rain On My Parade, an enchanting melodic rocker.

To get an idea about Thrive, check out the EPK!
