Nattväsen

Nattväsen
(Regain Records - 2009)

Some might think that Månegarm are just jumping on the band wagon and join the wave of Viking / pagan bands, but that's wrong! The band started in 1995 and renamed in 1996 to Månegarm. They have released several demos and 2 full-length album, now it's time for their 3rd CD. And they are willing to enter the premier league of Viking metal. The Swedish presenting powerful metal with a lot pathos and influences of black and death metal. Beside that they offer traditional metal, Swedish folk and humppa parts. Then they get into some atmospheric black metal á la Bathory or show reminiscences to Accept and Running Wild spiced up with grim vocals and clean vocal parts. Live they will start a real party with catchy sing along choruses - if you speak Swedish. You can hum along every track, but also offer a lot variety. When they dive into Swedish folk they add some violins, flutes and acoustic guitars and with the heroic vocals they remind me once again of Turisas. My resume, Nattväsen is offering Viking metal with variety and so this release should be in every Viking metal fans collection! They won't disappoint you!
